Thermal Camera

WillBees owns a Thermal Camera that we offer to our members for checking honeybee colonies in winter as well as locating the cluster for cutouts. Thermal imaging allows the beekeeper to identify temperature variations in the hive without opening the hive. Detecting ‘hot spots’ in the hive aids in determining if the hive is alive and where the cluster of bees is located within the hive.

It consists of:

  • F2W Thermal Camera 640X480 Resolution
  • Thermal Imaging Camera 256X192 IR Resolution
  • -4F to 1022F

Rental policies:

  • Use of the camera is on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • FREE for the first 2 days. $5 each day for the next 5. After that it is $25 /day.
  • Down payment/deposit of $25.
  • Must be current paid member of Will County Beekeepers.
  • Good contact number/address must be presented.
  • Must bring back fully functioning and undamaged.
