WillBees Field Days: Fall Prep

Our second Field Day event will help to set our hives in good order going into fall. We’ll talk about the summer dearth and what you should expect to see in your hive, mite treatments, pulling and adding supers for the last nectar flow, and feeding as we transition into the next season. Note: All attendees
are required to sign a waiver and wear protective gear. More details to come.

WillBees Out Apiary Field Trip

June 25 2-4 PM

One of our Board members owns a 10 acre conservation easement property at the corner of W Renwick Road and County Line Road near Plainfield. Located on the property are 5 Langstroth hives and a AZ (Slovenian) Bee house with 2 active families. Join us to learn about AZ bee keeping, and with respect to the American hives: A general hive inspection, mite testing and treating, what to look for in an over wintered hive vs a new hive, a walk around a restored prairie and general camaraderie.

Must sign a provided waiver and bring your own protective gear.
